An Idea

The idea of an idea is truly revolutionary. A single thought is sometimes worth a lot. In fact, it is these small and tiny little ideas that have resulted in all the changes we have encountered throughout our history. A small idea of gravitation brought revolution in physics for Newton. Another small one gave us the theory of relativity. These are simple, but their implications in our life are enormous. They help solve mysteries, they bring hope to strugglers, they help you contradict and they help you confirm. But, a certain thing certainly seems to be missed. They help you develop. The idea of fire, the idea of a wheel, the idea of steam engine, the idea of flying without wings, the idea of walking on the moon and most importantly, the idea to think. This is essentially the origin of technology.
All most all the education systems encourage ideas. They know the power of an idea. We are blessed to be following the ideas of the most brilliant minds of all times. They were not gifted with extra brains, they just had different ideas. But my emphasis here is neither on their validity nor on their origin. My effort here is to put across all of you the essence of following it. All of us know that the present technology has come about because of efforts of millions in the past. But, as there are two sides of the same coin, there are different branches of a river delta. An explorer can go in to only one at a time, and thus cannot fully measure the collective strength of the river. Similarly, an idea may diversify too many paths. A person can go on only one, and even if he comes back to explore another, he will be naturally slightly biased and will not do full justice to the new path. This idea of mine seems illogical, but the essence of it absolutely sound. Deep thinking will suggest that it is worth thinking this way. We need to explore the remaining paths as well, without being biased, which means that we need each time, a new mind and so, a new person. We should not discourage abstract thinking, because it may lead to brand new or more convincing results. Whenever an idea is revisited, the person changes, bringing a lot of variations in conclusions and thus, we can never actually accomplish the entire job theoretically perfectly. This the whole essence of this idea.
