Why people at Kumaon sleep a lot?

The inside story

First of all, correction. Kumaon people don’t sleep a lot. They only wake up late than what you want them to get up at, so that they are saved of doing the prescribed work. The poor caretaker comes at a late time in the evening to ask a student for his mess fee which he has not yet submitted and the student id found sleeping (guess who) and sleeps (pretends off course) unless the caretaker turns away in frustration. Similarly, for going to classes (oh really! Do we have classes at all? When?), there is simply no remedy. It is a fact that out of all the students in a particular year in Kumaon, at least one person in each course has a genuine attendance fight. So, it all boils down to the professor to give the F or not. So Let’s do an analysis.
It is an obvious assumption that people get up late when they go to bed late or rather early (guess how?). But some people simply get up even after a good sleep (I don’t want to take the name; he will beat me up when he returns from vacations). He says that if he sleeps for 4 hours, no one has the power to wake him up before 8 hours. Cool. I mean it is really awesome to have such qualities. Really, I don’t think that anyone can beat that kind of godliness. Then there are people who hadn’t seen the face of any classroom for at least a month. This is a moment of harsh reality. Some people do it deliberately, the act of staying up late, go for breakfast when others are rushing for their morning classes and the go to sleep. Some of them may genuinely be working on a project or assignment and have given it priority over other courses, but many do it just for seeing TV series on laptops or seeing movies. And then they do stuff that they should not indulge in, because doing it makes you even more sleepy or at least harder to get up (Don’t ask what, the smarter ones will understand themselves).
Then there are people who stay up late doing practices for RCA events (and rarely for BSP or BSW as well). There is this story I would like to tell you. There was this boy who had the habit of sleeping 6 in the morning after doing his daily stuff of Dragon Ball Z, Prison Break and couple of movies (After all, he had to complete the entire database of the Hostel Lan). He told me to wake him up every day while going to class. I used to wake him up, but he was very adamant about sleeping, not knowing that he himself had asked me to wake him up (I consider it a disorder, the state of losing your memory when you are waking up). Sometimes I was successful in making him sit up, but as soon as went outside his room, he went to bed again and oops, its 12 noon suddenly. And he won’t remember the slightest of things you said to him or he said to you in the morning and he will blame you for not waking him up. in fact, one day I managed to get him change his dress as well and took him down to the breakfast to have him take some milk and become awake. But he went upstairs saying that he forgot his notebook and never returned. Such a pity. And people say that I don’t get grades.
It is hard to criticize your own hostel but I insist that this is not critique. This is a blog writing. It is supposed to be true, but not true enough to make you think that
“WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON????”
