Here is a small talk with Mona Lisa, where she expresses her true self and her desire to be different.
Q) Ma’am, how old was you when Leonardo made your portrait?
A) I was around 29, but I look a lot older. I was asked by Leonardo to pose for 3 long years, and although it is famed that he made me between 1503 to 1506, I was actually made from 1513 to 1516.
Q) Ma’am, there is slight contrast between the background on your left and your right. Was it intentional or just a mistake?
A) I think it was a mistake. Leonardo was so passionate about making my smile the best in the world that he paid little heed to the background, which was obviously artificial and made after I had been portrayed. Then, he left home and made the left and the right portions at distinct times and places.
Q) Ma’am, did you ever thought that your painting would become such an icon in the art industry?
A) Not really, I have always thought of all work as a professional work, although this was my only work. I thank Leonardo for making such remarkable portrait of mine, although the credit goes to me as well for being so beautiful.
Q) Ma’am, not many people know about your true self. Can you tell us about the reason for your smile?
A) Actually, I knew that Leonardo was the chief of the Priory of Sion and his work of the Last Supper would make revolution and tell people about the truth behind the Holy Grail. My smile is exactly for the same reason. When he told me about the intricacies and the ways he and his people have used to protect the grail, I could do nothing but smile at the genius. It was just that time that he was painting my lips and gave it a fantastic and ambiguous smile.
Q) Ma’am, thanks for your time. What are your future plans?
A) Well, I plan to change my Museum once again and also to install a very advanced security layer over me, so that I am not stolen again. It feels horrible. But, you don’t worry. I won’t go anywhere now. Paris is my home and I love it.
Q) Thank you ma’am.
A) The pleasure was mine.
